HSS Parting Blade Grade M42 is a cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel cutting tool designed for parting-off, cut-off, and grooving operations on conventional and CNC lathes. M42 provides excellent hot hardness, wear resistance, cutting-edge retention, and machining performance, particularly when working with difficult-to-machine and harder materials.

Material: High Speed Steel (HSS) – M42 Grade
Application: Parting-off, cut-off and grooving
Cobalt content: Approximately 8%
Excellent red/hot hardness at elevated cutting temperatures
Superior wear resistance and edge retention
Suitable for carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and other difficult-to-machine materials
Higher cutting-speed capability compared with conventional HSS grades
Can be ground to the required cutting geometry and dimensions
Suitable for lathe, CNC turning, and automatic machine applications
