M42 is known for its excellent hardness, superior hot hardness, wear resistance, and cutting-edge retention, making it suitable for demanding machining applications and difficult-to-machine materials.
The TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating provides an additional hard, wear-resistant surface that helps improve tool durability and resistance to heat and abrasion. The square tool-bit shape allows the user to grind and form the cutting edge according to the required turning, facing, grooving, threading, or other machining operation.
